Getting Started with FocusDrive

Quick Start

Follow this once to get driving.

  1. Paste step-by-step directions into the editor.
  2. Tap Generate Route.
  3. Add a coordinate to each step to enable automatic GPS timing and distance.
  4. Tap Start Driving.

Without coordinates, you advance steps manually. With coordinates, GPS and distance-based guidance run automatically.

Two ways to build a route

Navigation steps (recommended)

Create a route from pasted directions

Best for turn-by-turn control and editing.

  1. Copy steps from another service (Google Maps, Apple Maps).
  2. Paste them into the editor, one step per line.
  3. Optional: tap Clean Steps to tidy formatting.
  4. Tap Generate Route.
  5. Add a coordinate to each step for automatic GPS navigation.

Create a route by entering a destination

Best if you want to get started quickly.

  1. Use the search to enter a destination.
  2. Tap Find Destination; steps are then created for you.

Navigation step notes

Each step includes an optional note for reassurance or extra guidance.

Example: “Start in the left lane, then move to the middle lane approaching the roundabout.”

Notes appear during navigation and are read aloud as part of the voice prompt.

Saving your route

Download to your device: keep a local copy for offline use.

Save to the cloud: set a short code so you can retrieve the route later.

Voice prompt timing

Adjust when prompts play based on expected speed. For example, on 70 mph roads you might use “800, 300”.

Set these distances in Settings whenever you want finer control.
